About Emily Hope
Emily Hope is a teenage singer/songwriter based in Connecticut. With her years of piano experience, she taught herself to play and sing simultaneously at age 10. Hope took up the guitar later on, and wrote her first song at a performing arts camp in 2017. "I sing everywhere; in the shower, at the dinner table, at school. It's like my second language," says the songwriter. As much as she loves expressing her own thoughts through original songs, Emily also enjoys taking a pop, rock, or country song and making it her own. Her passion and determination assist her in pursuing her dreams of being a musician. Emily's favorite part of writing music is getting to perform it live at farmers markets, private events, and festivals, because she gets to see listeners enjoying the music she is so passionate about, and meet new people and share her passion with anyone willing to listen. When she is not writing a song or performing at a local event, Emily enjoys participating in musical theater, and hanging out with her friends, whom she often asks for an opinion on new music. The teen uses artists such as Taylor Swift, Sara Bareilles, and Ingrid Michaelson as inspiration, and has a love for understated piano ballads. Emily's own music showcases the drama, lessons, and laughs that come with being a teenager. Her recent single The Other Side of the Rainbow stemmed from her childhood love of The Wizard of Oz, and the rainbow quickly became a symbol of her brand. "Hope is a very important word to me, not just because it is in my name, but because it essentially holds the world together. The rainbow is an important symbol of hope; it is the ray of colorful light after a dark storm," explains the songwriter.
